Both Hulu and CBS All Access offer similar subscriptions that are ostensibly free of commercials but still include some promotional content. It may seem a little deceitful of NBC to offer an ad-free subscription that still comes with ads, but Peacock isn't all that different from other streaming platforms in this regard. That should mean streaming the range of gameshows and reality competitions on Peacock remains a reasonably ad-free experience.

Premium Plus ads will mostly promote other Peacock content and will only appear on Peacock channels, events, and a handful of shows and movies. Premium Plus users will still see a limited amount of commercials, which the company puts down to "streaming rights." A note on the Peacock website states that " a small amount of programming will still contain ads," but these commercials won't necessarily be the same as the ads in the free and Premium version of Peacock. This Premium Plus tier is billed as an ad-free version of Peacock, but even this subscription comes with its own form of promotions. Related: Every Streaming Service Available In 2020 The only way to get a (somewhat) ad-free experience is to pay $9.99 a month or $100 a year for the Premium Plus subscription, which also provides the full library of Peacock content – which will get a lot larger when the delayed Peacock originals eventually materialize. The Premium subscription still includes ads, however. The next tier, Peacock Premium, costs $4.99 a month or $50 a year and provides an expanded library of content when compared to the free version. The Free version unsurprisingly is ad-supported, though users will only see five minutes of commercials or less each hour. Peacock launched with three different subscription plans: Free, Premium, and Premium Plus, giving users more choice than many other streaming services currently available. the new platform is unique in that it offers users several subscription options.
